“I became a photographer after years as a painter. My schooling was in drawing and painting, at the Otis Art Institute (now Otis College of Art and Design). I photograph many types of events, English and Western on the West Coast and in New Mexico. My background in painting really serves as a foundation for my work as a fine art photographer, which I approach with a painter's eye. I have great love and reverence for the spirit of the horse, and for the relationship between riders and their horses.”
“I am always searching for that moment, that archetypal gesture, that shows the bond between horse and rider. Often, it's the hand that tells the story. The essence of this magical bond between horse and rider is the focus of my work.”
